About Me

I am a computer science teacher in les Sables d’Olonne (France). The utilities listed on this site are part of my customized Slackware live distribution (LiNomad) that I use with my students. Some of them are teaching projects (GSSHFS or Simon for example).

I do not pretend these pieces of software to be production quality ready, but I hope they can be useful. Patches, suggestions, translations, ... are welcome.

This is my main development site.

The Sallu Project

Sallu (Simple And Lightweight Linux Utilities) is a collection of small Linux utilities for desktop use or system administration. These utilities were primarily a part of LiNomad (a Slackware Linux distribution derivative), but I decided to make them available for all.

These utilities require few resources to operate and are therefore particularly well suited to light desktop environments (like LXDE or XFCE). They are Written in C/GTK or BASH/GTK (with Xdialog).

I also provides some utilities for the Haxe programming language.

All these tools are licensed CeCill (GPL compatible).

Help is welcome for development, translation, documentation, project administration, icons or site design, ... Mail me at "frankendres at tuxfamily dot org".
